Sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) application, prospect and production

Sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) is an anionic surfactant widely used in household detergents, industrial cleaners, and personal care products. It appears as a white to light yellow powder or paste and is known for its excellent emulsifying, foaming, and cleaning properties. Chemically, it is the sodium salt of dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid and is synthesized through the sulfonation of linear alkyl benzene followed by neutralization with sodium hydroxide. Its strong surfactant activity makes it a key ingredient in many formulations.

We, Henan Surface Chemical Industry Co., Ltd (https://www.surfaceindustry.com) can manufacture full range sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate (SDBS), in addition to liquids, pastes, and powders, there are also high-purity product, high-purity SDBS 90% even 95% can be used for laboratory biochemical analysis, electrophoresis, and ion reagents, as an antistatic agent.

We have four sets of advanced high-tower spraying powder drying production lines (counter-current) and two sets of liquid production lines, which can produce more than 40,000 tons of various sulfonates annually, can meet the needs of different customers.

Despite regulatory pressures and growing competition from bio-based surfactants, Sodium Dodecylbenzene sulphonate (SDBS) remains a cost-effective and high-performance surfactant, ensuring its continued relevance across multiple sectors.
